The screen of LBook consists of many small spheres containing inside particles of colour pigments. The
white and black particles respectively are positively and negatively charged. By applying different electical
potential each sphere can be made black or white. The image formed by this method looks like the ink image on paper.
By varing potential grey shades can be also achieved.
Due to small size of the spheres high resolution image is obtained. Images formed by this method are very sharp.
In the absence of electical potential the state of the speres does not change. Therefore the image remains visible after
switching the power off. Due to this remarkable feature the e-ink screen
is extremely energy efficient.
Other advantages of the e-ink images are high stability and good visibility in the bright light. There
is no backlight and no trembling what makes eInk screens more pleasant for eyes then the displays of PDA or notebooks.
