The Open Universiteit Nederland started using e-book readers in the teachnig process.
In three short higher education programms (Kort Hoger Onderwijsprogramma's (kho)) the studends recieve an e-book reader wherein substantial part of the course materials is loaded. As a live-long-studying university we are striving to make the education process flexible, accessible and efficient so that students could be time- and place-independent in their studies. The use of helping means like e-book readers as in this pilot course certainly will contribute to this, tells member of the teaching staff Cees Brouwer. More (in Dutch)...
